Mary Gertrude Eisenman of Fremont, died November 23, 2017 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky following a brief illness. She was 96 and a lifelong resident of Sandusky County.
Mrs. Eisenman was born June 15th, 1921 on a farm near Millersville to Frank and Agnes (Foos) Hoffman.
In 1948, she married Paul Eisenman in St. Mary Catholic Church in Millersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 2011 and by two sisters, Dorothy Alt of Ft. Wayne, IN and Catherine Pauline, who died in infancy.
Mrs. Eisenman is survived by four daughters: Ruth (John) Ferguson and Kathy (Ryan) Pence of Fremont; Joan (Paul) Wasserman, Burgoon, Nancy (James) Carter, Marquette, MI and two sons, James, Fremont, Steve (Becky), Risingsun.
Also surviving are, a sister, Emma Rose (Daniel) Jenkins, Fremont, and four brothers: Herb and Carl (Mary Ellen), Burgoon; Paul (Betty), Fremont, and Tom (Nancy), Helena; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Eisenman was employed at Hetrick’s Market in Fremont. She was a dedicated homemaker, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and baking.
A longtime member of St. Ann Catholic Church, she volunteered for many church and school activities. During retirement years, she and Paul took travel tours to points of interest in the US and Canada, including a number of visits to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Friends and family will be welcomed to the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Community on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Fr. Michael Roemmele will officiate and burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont.
