Ruth Ann was born on Nov. 23, 1932 in Fremont, a daughter of Harry and Grace (Houtz) Carnicom. She graduated in 1950 from Fremont Ross High School where she was a drum majorette for the school’s band. Soon thereafter, she married Roger Stout in Fremont on June 21, 1952. Together, they celebrated over 63 years of marriage until Roger passed on Feb. 10, 2016.
Ruth Ann worked as a secretary at Lutz and Hayes Elementary Schools and was Administrative Assistant at the Ohio Migrant Education Center, retiring after 25 years with the Fremont City and Sandusky County Schools. During that time, Ruth Ann was a Scout Den Mother and Treasurer for the Cub and Boy Scout Troops 302. She was very active with her church, Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, serving on the Board of Trustees, the Kitchen and Communications Committees and was an Assistant Treasurer.
Surviving are children, Scott G. (Rhonda) Stout and Randall L. (Debora) Stout; grandchildren, Lora (Derek) Thiessen, Krystal (Christopher) Nelson, Scott G. Stout, II, and Sean E. Stout; great-grandchildren, Garrett Nelson, Dylan Erdmann, Emma & Andrew Nelson; 2 step-grandchildren; and 7 step-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her siblings Dwight, Sherman & Shelman Carnicom and Mary Lois Overmyer.
Family and friends are welcomed to the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont on Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 11:00 a.m., at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Jennifer Miller will officiate.
Burial with her husband will take place at McGormley Cemetery, Fremont at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Promedica Hospice or to the Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund.
