Helen L. Clark, 95, of Gibsonburg passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Good Shepherd Home, in Fostoria, Ohio. She was born on May 15, 1922, in Kenton, Ohio to the late John Pearl and Ada (Overly) Richards. Helen was a 1940 graduate of Ridgeway High School in Kenton, Ohio, and a 1944 graduate of Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. Following her schooling, she worked for IBM in Toledo, Ohio. On October 9, 1949, she married Arthur Clark. Helen became a fulltime mother and homemaker, and was dedicated to raising their four children. Together they shared sixty-four wonderful years of marriage.
Helen was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg, and was active in Women’s Club and PTA. She enjoyed working outside, mowing the yard, and growing flowers for their beautifully landscaped yard. She was an exceptional seamstress, an accomplished cook, and loved opening her home for hospitality, but her top priority and greatest joy was always her family.
Surviving are her four children: Courtland (Diane) Clark of Elmore, Ohio; Christine (Daniel) Mitchell of Blissfield, Michigan; Lyman Clark of Lindsey, Ohio; Carol (James) Jividen of Woodville, Ohio; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur (November 14, 2013) and two siblings, Courtland Richards and Evelyn Richards.
The family will host a time of visitation from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg, Ohio. Immediately following will be a joint Celebration of Life service for both Helen and Arthur. Memorials may be made to Faith United Methodist Church or the Sandusky County Humane Society.
