Janet Overmyer, 82, died on Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Fremont. She was born to Irvin and Florence (Darr) Mayle on November 4, 1935. She married James Overmyer in 1956. He preceded her in death in 1987.
Janet graduated from St. Joseph High School and the Graduate School of Banking of Rutgers University. She retired from Key Bank, Toledo where she was Vice President of Bank Operations. She served as president of the Board of Trustees of Terra Community College. She volunteered countless hours at the Browse and Buy Gift Shop of the hospital and at St. Joseph High School. She was an active member of St. Joseph Parish serving on many committees. She felt volunteering was a way of giving back for all she had been given. In later years, she spent her time crafting and following her favorite sports teams.
She will be missed by her daughters Tammy (Gus) Wasserman of Old Fort and Patti (Bob) Patusky of Florida; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who will all miss the summers with her in Mayleville, and the way she made each Christmas so special. Also surviving are brothers Jack Mayle and Louie Mayle; and sisters, Jean Wasserman and Jane (Ken) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers Tom Mayle and Jim Mayle; and sisters Joyce (Dick) Ross and Patricia Mayle.
