Joan Polter, 96, of Fremont, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born on May 6, 1921 in Tiffin to Valentine & Josephine (Kaczmarowski) Weber.
On July 9, 1949, Joan married the love of her life, Henry Polter, at St. John Lutheran Church. They were married 38 years before his passing on September 3, 1987. Joan was an active member of Fremont Alliance Church. She enjoyed going to the casinos to play the slot machines, crossword puzzles, knitting, and watching wrestling.
Joan is survived by her son, Victor Polter of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Cathy Polter; grandchildren, Michelle Polter and Tonya (Ben) Haverfield; great-grandchildren, Bethany & Thomas Haverfield and Jordan Flores; and brothers, Andrew and Stanley Weber.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry; children, Rocky and David; and siblings, Phillip, Joseph, Johnny, Francis, Helen and Veronica.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with an additional hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Glenn Merrill will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
