Eileen H. Miller, 87, passed away on March 21, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born on April 17, 1930 in Rittman, OH to Alvaro Clois & Edna Florence (Benton) Fackler.
Eileen was a 1948 graduate of Rittman High School. She continued her education at the University of Ashland, receiving her bachelor’s degree in Music. Eileen was a music teacher for 4 years at Orville and then went on to teach English at Fremont Middle School until her retirement in 1984. She was an organist at Emmanuel Lutheran for 23 years and Zion Lutheran for 11 years. Eileen enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and watching TV. She was also a member of Lindsey Trinity Methodist Church.
On August 3, 1957, Eileen married Wendelle Miller at Rittman Presbyterian Church. They celebrated 50 years of marriage until his passing on March 12, 2008.
Surviving are her sisters-in-law, Helen Miller, and Pauline Lamale; and 12 nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendelle; brothers-in-law, Donald Miller, Melvin Slates, and Donald Lamale; sister-in-law, Geraldine Slates; and beloved dogs, Skippy and Henry.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont on Monday, March 26, 2018 where Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Pastor Scott Mauch will officiate. Burial will follow at Lindsey Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Ashland.
