Carol “Pleades” Karr-Sloan, 88, of Fremont passed away on Thursday, Mar. 29, 2018 at ProMedica Fremont Memorial Hospital. She was born in Tiffin on Sept. 1, 1929 to William Zahn and Frances Hopple.
In 1947, Carol graduated from Columbian High School of Tiffin. She was a homemaker, an amazing artist and a true musician, playing the banjo, mandolin, piano and organ. Along with playing instruments, Carol enjoyed Polka dances, and movies if they were by Stephen King or starred Chuck Norris. She also enjoyed listening to Gene Autry.
Surviving are children, Richard Alan Hoffert of Fremont, Susan Kay (Tony) Alejandro of Glendale, AZ, Rebecca Jayne (Brian) Mouch of Williamsburg, and Debra Jean (Geoff Bowling) Hoffert of Fremont; 17 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by children, Robert J. Hoffert, II and Kathy Sue Hoffert; grandchildren, Nick Arthur, Teniell Mata and an infant grandson; and great grandson, Austin Butscher; and siblings, Dwight Billard and Jerry Hopple.
Family and friends are welcomed on Saturday, Apr. 7, 2018 from 3-6 p.m. at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont where Memorial Services will begin at 6 p.m. Rev. Jeff Ridenour will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice of Memorial Hospital or Sandusky County Cancer Care Fund.
