Jack O. Pollock, 77, of Fremont passed away on April 10, 2018 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital. He was born in Toledo to the late John and Mona (Norris) Pollock on July 29, 1940.
On February 12, 1961, Jack married the love of his life Phyllis Wright at Montpellier United Methodist Church. Together they raised their 3 sons and in the late 60’s they ventured to open their own business. For 49 years, Jack’s easy-going nature has brightened the days of many customers at his car wash and gas station, Happy Jacks. “Have a Super Duper Day.”
In years past, Jack volunteered for the reading program at Otis Elementary. He enjoyed restoring antique cars and was a member of Pioneer Auto Club where he had won 1st place several times for his restoration work. Jack loved playing golf. He enjoyed playing numerous golf courses. On one special occasion, he played the TPC Saw Grass Gold Course and at the Sea Island Golf Resort. He even shot a hole-in-one on 3 different courses. Jack loved his Harley Davidson. Sometimes they would go out for a ride and it would be so relaxing that he and Phyllis would end up in another state by the end of the day. Jack’s love of adventure led him to go on cattle drives and last year to ride his Harley back home from wintering in Florida. Jack enjoyed family gatherings. The grandkids loved to spend time with Grandpa as he would take them golfing, county fairs, or to just spend time being in the outdoors. Jack was also an active member of Faith Lutheran Church.
