Dolores “Dee” H. Schroeder, 82, of Fremont, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Friday, Apr. 27, 2018 after a long and beautiful life.
Dee was born on Aug. 26, 1935 in Chicago, IL, to John and Marge (Herrick) Hasto. She graduated from Steinmetz High School in 1953. Later that year, on Oct. 3, she married the love of her life, Ronald A. Schroeder. Together they had 3 wonderful children and in 1976 moved to Fremont.
She was a homemaker and the household executive, taking care of home and family, while Ron frequently traveled for work. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf. She was an incredible oil and watercolor artist and volunteered at Fremont Memorial Hospital. She will be most remembered for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Her wonderful sense of humor, dedication to her friends and deep love for her family left an unforgettable mark on this world and she’ll be greatly missed.
Dee is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ron. She is survived by her son, Steve (Janet) Schroeder of Bonita Springs, FL and daughters, Judy (Mike) Sauber and Ann (Tony) Mayle, both of Fremont; grandchildren, David (Lindsay), Brian, and John Schroeder, Elyse (Brandon) Lohrbach, Ashley (Jonathan) Moody, Adam & Allen Mayle, Bryan (Maegan) Ferres; great grandchildren, Ashton & Isabelle Schroeder and Quinn Moody; and longtime dedicated caregiver and friend, Rick McKinley.
Family and friends will be welcomed on Saturday, June 9, 2018, 2-4 p.m., at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont, where a Celebration of Life will be held beginning at 4 p.m. Pastor Scott Mauch will officiate.
Dee’s family would like to thank the caring hands and hearts of the staff at ProMedica Memorial Hospice for their comfort and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
