Carol J. Wagner, 82, of Gibsonburg passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 3, 2018. She was born on June 19, 1935 in Woodville to Chester and Edna (Demaska) Mathna.
Carol graduated from Woodville High School in 1953. On January 2, 1959 she married Richard Wagner at Okeechobee, FL. Together they shared 41 loving years of marriage until Richard’s passing in 2000.
Carol worked for the city of Bradner for several years as a utility collector until her retirement in 2000. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1148 and the American Legion in Bradner. In her spare time Carol enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Surviving are her children, Linda (Clarence) Winget of Fostoria, Patti Wagner of West Millgrove, and Karyl (Chad) Cicanese of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Jason (April) Winget; Randall (Christina) Bradner, Christopher Bradner, Stephanie (Chris Althauser) Winget, Brooke (Matt) Smith, Jade (Jesse Mantel) Wagner, Kyle Bishop, Chad Cicanese Jr., Anthony Cicanese, Richard “Vinny” Cicanese, and Heaven Cicanese; 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Jeanne (Jimmy) Potridge; and companion, Bill Rohrbough.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Wagner; and brothers, Kent Mathna and Gary Mathna.
Visitation will be held on Monday May 7, 2018 at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. where Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice, Clyde.
