Donna Jeanette Burkett

Donna Jeanette Burkett, 80, of Gibsonburg passed away at her home on Sunday, May 13, 2018. She was born on January 23, 1938 in Wauseon to Loy Blessing and Laura Ruth Marie (Steinbrecher) Kutzli. She was a 1956 Gibsonburg High School graduate. 

On May 16, 1959, she married Ray Merlin Burkett at Zion Lutheran Church. They shared 44 years of marriage until his passing on August 27, 2003. Donna worked for Roots Poultry until her retirement in 2008. She enjoyed gardening, cross stitch and crocheting.

Surviving are children, Jeanette (Mark) Damschroder of Fremont, Cheryl (Tom) Frey of Fremont and Christina Sell of Holland; grandchildren, Matthew (Taylor), Annette (Shawn), Stephanie and Steven; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Brayden, Lila, Gracin and Sloane; and siblings, Anna Kelley, Donald Kutzli, Ida Richter, Sandy Baker, Linda Williamson, Margaret Helle and Karen Hise.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray; and siblings, Paul Kutzli, Rose Ohm, Ruth Aleshire and Aileen Kutzli.

Friends and family will be welcomed to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. There will be an additional hour of visitation held prior to the start of the service. Rev. Henry Seibert will officiate, and burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to ProMedica Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
