Billy B. McGough, Sr.

GIBSONBURG: Billy B. McGough, Sr., 73, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 17, 2018. He was born on July 8, 1944 in Fostoria to the late Joseph H. and Ruth I. (Courtney) McGough.

Billy was a 1962 Lakota High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1965. On Dec. 24, 1965 in Ypsilanti, MI, he married the love of his life Carolyn J. Zender. Until Jan. 31, 1998, Billy worked at Chrysler in Perrysburg.

The biggest priority in his life was spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians. He also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and golfing. Billy was a member of the American Legion, UAW 1435, Knights of Columbus, and St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Carolyn; children, Mike (Troy) McGough of Akron, Shelly (Joe) Dry of Clyde, Tammy (Tom) Stoudinger of Gibsonburg, Holly (Geno Perales) McGough of Gibsonburg, Tom (Heather) McGough of Gibsonburg, Kim McGough-Sleek of Green Springs; grandchildren, Michael, Jason, & Mandy McGough; Austin, James & Jakob Dry; Mackenzie, Alyssa & Keegan Stoudinger; Sydney & Lyndsey Perales; Mason, Dylan & Collin McGough; and Katelyn, TJ, Aidan & Zach McGough; siblings, Robert McGough of Hilliard and Dea Jo Owens of Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his son, Billy B. McGough, Jr.; grandson, Max Joseph McGough; and siblings, Danny McGough and Toy Stump.

Friends and family will be welcomed to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 2-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Thursday 1:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Gibsonburg. Fr. Ted Miller will officiate, and burial with Military Honors will follow at Scott-Trinity Cemetery.
