Callie Rae Balsizer

Callie Rae Balsizer, 21, of Gibsonburg, OH died in an automobile accident along with her mother, Lisa Anne Balsizer, on Aug. 3, 2018.

Callie was born in Toledo, OH on Oct. 25, 1996 to Carl “Cal” and Lisa Anne (Savage) Balsizer.  As a 2015 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, she followed her mom’s footsteps by attending nursing classes at Owens College.  She started working at the former Gibsonburg Pharmacy and was currently a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the new CVS Pharmacy in Gibsonburg. Callie also worked as a server at Kate & Al’s in Gibsonburg. 

Callie, like her mom, enjoyed travelling, and was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Gibsonburg.  When Callie wasn’t attending concerts with her best friend, Stephanie, she was spending time with her boyfriend, Spencer. She often would stay up late talking to her sister, Jake. Callie had a passion for makeup and always created beautiful art with it. Callie had a love for nachos and had to get them at almost every concert. She leaves behind family and friends who will miss her dearly. Life won’t ever be the same for some of us. But Callie would want us to keep dancing to the beat of life. We’re sure she’s rocking out in heaven and crowd surfing.

She is survived by her dad, Cal; sister, Jessica Anne Balsizer of Gibsonburg and most recently of Alabama; grandmother, Mildred Legas of Monroe, MI; and her boyfriend, Spencer Morelock.

Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, 1-8 p.m. at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 319 West Madison St., Gibsonburg, OH.  Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, Aug. 13, 11 a.m, at Ole Zim’s Wagon Shed, 1387 SR 590, Gibsonburg
where visitation will begin at 10 a.m.  Rev. Blair Miller will officiate.

Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Callie’s sister, Jessica.
