Janice Ruth Dix

Janice Ruth Dix, 76, passed away at her home surrounded by family on Sept 7, 2018. She was born on Feb. 14, 1942 in Port Clinton to the late, Harold G. and Delores H. (Ritter) Dages.

She graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1960, and later worked for Wilson Football Factory in Ada, OH.

On Jan. 17, 1959, Janice married her high school sweetheart Robert Dix Sr. at Faith Lutheran Church, Port Clinton.

Janice lived for her family and was a grandmother to many and loved by all.

Surviving are children, Robert R. (Molly) Dix, Jr. of Fremont, William Z. Dix, Bradley H. (June) Dix, Laurie A. (Kevin) Peters, and Steven R. Dix all of Gibsonburg; grandchildren, Michael Dix, Katrina (David) Becerra, April Dix, Craig Dix, Sheena Peters, Mindy (Mark) Leavitt, Joshua (Amanda) Dix, Kristen (Scott) Ryan, Nathan (Colleen) Dix, Andrew Dix, and Matthew Ohm; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Margorie (Lynn) Henry of Fremont.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Sr. who passed in 2012; grandson, Aaron Dix; and siblings Frances (Harolyn) Lindemann, James Dages and George Dages.

Friends and family will be welcomed to the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 10:30-1 p.m. & 2-4:30 p.m. where a celebration of her life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Kent Winkler will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.

Memorials may be made to the care of her family or Heartland Hospice of Fremont.
