Rev. Roger Bishop, 86, of Fremont died unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.
Born in Hallsville, OH on Sept. 22, 1931, he was the son of Lawrence and Lucy (Yaple) Bishop. Roger graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1949 and from Otterbein College in 1956. He then attended the United Theological Seminary, graduating in 1960. As a Christian man, he devoted his life to God, his faith and his family. Roger was an avid reader, enjoyed bicycling, collected Western movies and loved spending time with family and friends.
On Nov. 28, 1954, he married his wife of over 63 years, Carole Martin in Chillicothe. Carole survives.
Also surviving are children, Stuart (Michelle) Bishop of Fremont, Daun Wilson of Wabash, IN and Paul (Jill) Bishop of Appomattox, VA; grandchildren, Shawn Kern, Whitney & Trent Bishop, Krista (Nate) Polston and Kylie, Ty, & Becka Bishop; and great grandchildren, Maddox & Nash Polston.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; son, Roger Alan; and sister, Carmen Estep.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, Sept 13, 2018, 5:30 p.m., at the Grace Community Church, Fremont where visitation will begin at 4:30.
Donations in his memory may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
