Caroline Josephine Welch

Caroline Josephine Welch, 77, of Fremont, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 10, 1940 in Fremont to Charles & Mary (Foos) Fry.

Caroline graduated from St. Joseph High School and worked for several years at Eaton Control, Inc. until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church. In her free time, she would either be playing Bingo or enjoying arts and crafts.  Caroline loved to dance but most of all, she loved spending time with all of her grandchildren.

Surviving Caroline are her children, Robert A. Iler of Fremont and Christine B. Mura of Denham Spings, LA; grandchildren, Kelsey Iler and Gage, Caleb & Jeremiah Mura; and siblings, Charles (Evelyn) Scherer Jr., Elizabeth “Beth” Binkley, Agnes (Ed) Halbisen, Michael (David) Scherer, Margaret (Chad) Loesser, Chester (Carol) Fry, JoAnn Henry and Sue (Frank) Netzel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Scherer and Mary (Harold) Fry; and sister, Barbara Scherer.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the Herman-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 5-7 p.m. where Funeral Services will begin at 7 p.m. with Father Michael Roemmele officiating.
